The data cable is a standard means of transmitting signals between |peripherals| and the main computer. The cables are usually terminated by |DB (data bus) connectors|. These connectors are standardized so that devices are compatible when connected. The cable is composed of a number of wires, each protected by an outer, insulating coating. These wires are then attached to pins in the connector.
